Funding Grants
DSRV is very supportive of any sporting clubs, groups and individuals that have a focus or wish to support people who are Deaf or hard of hearing. It is our aim to share information with relevant individuals and groups regarding any grants, sponsorships or scholarships that may assist Deaf and hard of hearing people with their sporting and recreational goals.
Many people think that DSRV will only support people who are Deaf and hard of hearing or organisations that are relevant to Deaf and hard of hearing people. DSRV obviously has a focus on people who are Deaf and hard of hearing; however, if you are an organisation that provides sport or recreational activities and are wanting to develop activities and inclusive practices for Deaf and hard of hearing people, DSRV can support you as well. You may want advice to apply for a grant that will enable you to make your activities more inclusive. DSRV can provide advice to help in situations such as these.
When you apply for a grant, you may ask DSRV to write a letter of support to help improve your chances of being successful with your application. You may also ask DSRV to look over your application or ask for feedback regarding your application. DSRV understands that some people have no experience in writing applications.
Recently DSRV have been successful in obtaining two grants:
- $1,000 from Disability Sports Victoria to Victorian Deaf Soccer Association to establish the Women's team for Southern Cross competition to be held on April 2010.
- $1,797 from Department of Families, Housing, Community Swervices and Indigenous Affairs to get the laminator, binding machine and fuel reimbursement for volunteers.
- For more information contact the DSRV office.
This is DSRV working for you!
